Boudoir has recently become popular once again, after many years of it being considered “taboo” in the community. We are here to give you the facts on what boudoir isn’t so that you have the facts when it comes to booking such an empowering session.

 

Myth: You have to have a “perfect” body to do boudoir.

You don’t need to lose weight. I’m sure that you have gone back and forth throughout your life trying to fit a mold or fit a certain size or look and are exasperated, as you should be! Trust me, I’ve been there. However, embracing your body and learning self-love is what we strive for. We won’t try to Photoshop every single thing you hate about yourself. Instead, we work around big ‘no-nos’ with flattering posing and lighting. You don’t need to change a single thing about yourself! This is a wonderful way to show you how gorgeous you truly are.

Myth: They’re just raunchy photos.

It’s so much more than that. Anybody who starts off a sentence with “aren’t they just naked photos?” is in for a real treat once I get into what boudoir means. Of course, if you prefer, we can make that happen, but being naked is not a requirement for this session. Boudoir is an experience that teaches body empowerment and celebrating the skin you’re in.

 

Myth: You need a reason to do boudoir.

Girl, if one day you wake up and decide that you want to do this session, do it! There are no certain criteria or milestones that must be met to do a session like this. Maybe it’s for the confidence boost that you desperately needed. Perhaps it’s something that you just wanted to cross off your bucket list just to say you did it. Either way, you don’t need a particular reason for choosing you.

Myth: You Only Do a Boudoir Session For a Significant Other.

Do it for yourself! In fact, we prefer when women are doing the session for themselves first, and then for someone else. And this is no disrespect towards the partner, it is simply a confirmation that you are wanting to do this session for you and you alone! This is your body, your life, and your session. We want you to have the most fun, without thinking about exactly what the other person would want, because they’re not in this room doing this session! YOU are! We want to keep the meaning of this session true to its purpose, which is to inspire you as a woman, and to help you remember that you are a baddie. This is a chance for you to step out of your comfort zone without judgment, without fear, and with complete reassurance that you’re in result will look amazing! It’s all about self-worth and investing in YOU. A boudoir shoot will show you how beautiful you really are.

Did you know you don’t have to tell anyone or show anyone you did boudoir if you’re not comfortable with it? We will keep you confidential if you prefer. Nobody has to know if you don’t want them to. It can be private, or you can share it! The choice is yours. Anything you see on social media was consented by the women who had the session, and we would never post them (see it again: we would never post without your consent). So, if this is something that you have let hinder you in the past,don’t let it!

 

Myth: You have to Wear Lingerie During Your Boudoir Session

Once again, this is false! You do not have to wear lingerie for your session! This is only one of many options that you have when planning your boudoir session. Now, you might see many women in lingerie on various websites because this is one of the most commonly used items. However, women can rock all sorts of outfits-from bodysuits, to robes, sheer leggings and panty sets, the possibilities are endless! Don’t think that you have to be confined in a box when it comes to wardrobe choices. And don’t let that stop you from booking a session! Would you rather wear sweaters and thigh-highs? Do you want to wear a bodysuit and heels? Hell yeah! Go for it. Whatever makes you feel beautiful is the most important.
